TAR HEEL – Whiteville Central defeated Tar Heel 9-0 Tuesday in a Waccamaw Middle School Conference baseball game that was halted by rain in the top of the 6th inning.

Justin Lewis cracked a 2nd inning single, and teammates Dawson Edwards and Jonathan Ortiz drew walks in the 5th inning for Tar Heel.
Ryan Dove started on the mound for the Panthers who are slated to travel to Whiteville Wednesday for a make-up game.
