WHITEVILLE – Williams Township scored 4 runs in the fifth inning to defeat Bladenboro 5-2 Monday in the Bulldogs Waccamaw Middle School Conference baseball opener.

A passed third strike and an error allowed John Gore to score an Aggie run in the first inning. Andre Moore walked and came around to score the tying run for Bladenboro in the second inning.

After the Aggies went up 5-1 in the fifth, Aidan Russ lined a hit to rightfield leading off the seventh inning and scored the final Bladenboro run.

Michael Young started on the mound for the Bulldogs. Teammates Russ, Cade Allen and Wadeyn Norris connected for one hit each.

The Bulldogs will host Clarkton School of Discovery Thursday.
