EAST ARCADIA- Bladenboro defeated East Arcadia 34-20 Tuesday in Bladen Five Middle School Conference boys basketball action.

Deonte Lacy threw in a couple of first quarter baskets, Gary Parker sank 3 free throws, and Jaylen Newkirk pumped in a basket and a free throw as the Bulldogs took a 10-4 first quarter lead.

Aljuan Brown drained a 3-point shot, and Emanuel Lewis hit a free throw for East Arcadia in the period. Lewis connected for the only Panther basket of the second quarter.

Ricky Brisson tossed in a pair of baskets for Bladenboro in the second period, and Lacy and Bryley Williams added a basket each as the Bulldog lead grew to 18-6 at halftime.

Newkirk banged in 2 more baskets in the third quarter. Brisson popped in a basket, and Parker canned 2 more free throws.

Lewis dropped in a pair of baskets for East Arcadia in the period, and Kenneth Armstrong and Tyler Pyatt flipped in a basket each to keep the Panthers within 26-14.

Lewis buried a 3-point shot and added a free throw in the fourth quarter and topped all scorers with 11 points. Corey Robbins tallied a final period basket for the Panthers.

Bryley Williams fired in a pair of baskets for Bladenboro in the fourth quarter, and Parker and Brycen Blackmon netted a basket each.

Parker and Newkirk shared scoring honors for the Bulldogs with 7 points each, and Lacy, Brisson and Williams added 6 points each to the balanced Bladenboro attack.

The Bulldogs are now 2-0 on the season.
