TABOR CITY – Kendell Lesane, Tylik McCall and Jackson Pait combined for 31 points Wednesday night to lead Bladenboro’s Bulldogs to a 42-23 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ basketball victory over Tabor City.

Lesane topped the Bulldog scoring with 13 points, and McCall rang up 10 points. Pait finished with 8 points, and teammate Gavin Elks netted 5 points.

Elks fired in a 3-point shot and another basket to spark the Bulldogs to an early 8-5 lead. Teammate Elijah McCollum pumped in a basket, and Lesane hit a free throw.

Lesane took charge in the 2nd period blistering the nets with 5 baskets. Pait and McCall contributed a basket each as the Bladenboro lead grew to 22-17 at halftime.

McCall filled up the rims with 3 baskets and a foul shot in the 3rd period. Pait pumped in another basket to stretch the Bulldog lead to 31-23.

Pait threw in 2 more baskets in the final quarter. Lesane, Justin Spaulding and Sincere McKinley popped in a basket each, and McCall tacked on a free throw to an 11-0 closing run that broke the game open.

K. Morgan led the Red Devils with 8 points, and R. Norris and N. Hutchinson followed with 6 points each.

Coach Joe Gore’s Bulldogs improved to 2-0 and will host Clarkton School of Discovery Thursday night.
