CLARKTON – Keonta Hill fired in 12 points Tuesday night to lead unbeaten Bladenboro to a 44-10 Waccamaw Middle School ‘A’ Division boys’ basketball victory over Clarkton School of Discovery.

Hill burnt the nets with 4 baskets in the opening period, and center Kendell Lesane worked the paint for 3 more buckets as the Bulldogs opened up a 15-1 lead. Sincere McKinley added a free throw for Bladenboro, while Azarion Willis made the Blue Devil free throw.

Jaquan Lesane and John McDowell threw in 2 baskets each for the Bulldogs in the 2nd quarter, and Ashton Davis and Darren Davis tossed in buckets as the Bladenboro lead grew to 27-7. Omar Powell and Zanmarion Pone buried 3-point shots for Clarkton.

Davis and Hill pumped in 2 baskets each in the 3rd period. Blake Britt nailed a 3-point shot, Jaquan Lesane sank a basket and 2 free throws, and Kendell Lesane dropped in a basket to widen the gap to 44-7. Prince Powell bombed in a 3-point shot for CSD in the final quarter.

Kendell Lesane and Jaquan Lesane followed Hill on the Bulldogs scoring list with 8 points each. Davis finished with 6 points, and John McDowell tallied 4 points. Omar Powell, Pone and Prince Powell scored 3 points each for the Blue Devils.

Coach Joe Gore’s Bulldogs improved to 7-0 in league play and 11-0 overall and will host 2nd place Tabor City Thursday night. Clarkton, now 0-7 and 1-9 will travel to Williams Township for their season finale.
