BLADENBORO – Tylik McCall and Kendell Lesane fired in 18 of their 29 points during a 30-16 2nd half surge that propelled Bladenboro to a 46-32 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ basketball victory over Elizabethtown Tuesday night.
With the score knotted 16-16, McCall threw in 3 baskets, and Lesane dropped in a basket and 2 free throws to spark a 14-6 Bulldog surge that opened up a 30-22 lead at the 3rd quarter break.

McCall pumped in 3 more baskets in the final quarter, Gavin Elks bombed in a 3-point shot, and Lesane and Hunter Hester popped in baskets during a 16-10 Bladenboro closing run.
Tevin McLean tossed in 3 baskets and a free throw in the 2nd half for the Cougars, and teammate Ayden Williams netted 2 baskets and a free throw. McLean topped all scorers with 19 points, and Williams totaled 5 points. Braylon Cromartie added 4 points.
McCall led the Bulldog scoring with 16 points, and Lesane finished with 13 points. Hester added 4 points. McCall and Lesane flipped in 2 baskets each to start the game, and Lesane tacked on a foul shot as Bladenboro built a 9-6 lead. McLean kept the Cougars close with 2 baskets.
McLean poured in 4 baskets in the 2nd quarter as the Cougars pulled even at 16-16. Jackson Pait buried a 2nd period 3-ball for the Bulldogs, and Lesane and Hester netted baskets.
Coach Joe Gore’s Bulldogs, now 1-0, will travel to Tabor City Wednesday. Elizabethtown, now 1-1, will host Tar Heel Thursday.
