BasketballKeyshawn Lewis lit up the scoreboard with 22 points to lead Bladenboro to a 48-31 Bladen Five Middle School boys basketball victory over visiting Tar Heel Thursday night.

Lewis fired in 7 points to spark an early 9-3 Bulldog spurt. Kerron Washington pumped in 6 of his 8 points during a 12-9 Bladenboro surge that stretched the Bulldog lead to 21-12 at halftime.

Lewis took charge by scoring 10 straight points that allowed the Bulldogs to pull away in the second half. Aldo Hernandez tossed in 5 points for the winners, and teammates Trenton Lyons and Ronaldo Ramirez added 4 points each.

Irvin Hernandez topped the Tar Heel scoring with 9 points. Teammate Emonta Smith contributed 8 points, and Johnathan Salvetti followed with 7 points. Eddie Perez finished with 4 points for Tar Heel.

The Bulldogs evened their record at 1-1 with the victory.
