BLADENBORO – Guard Gary Parker and center Deonte Lacy combined for 19 points in the fourth quarter as Bladenboro held on for a 56-48 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys basketball victory over Williams Township.

The Bulldogs took a 36-32 lead into the final quarter, and Parker attacked the rim for 5 baskets and a free throw. Lacy powered inside for 4 more baskets as the Bulldog lead grew to 8 points. Teammate Aaron Wren added a free throw.

Jamal Brown who topped all scorers with 29 points tried to rally the Aggies with a 3-point bomb, 2 baskets and 2 free throws. Teammate Cameron Ridgeway netted 2 baskets in the final period. Ridgeway finished with 10 points.

Lacy racked up 23 points to lead the Bulldog scoring. Parker finished with 17 points. Teammate Anthony Mitchell totaled 8 points, and Landon Stanley netted 5 points.

Stanley and Mitchell drained a 3-point shot and a 2-point basket each in the opening quarter as the Bulldogs took a 13-7 lead. Parker flipped in a basket, and Lacy made a free throw. Brown scored all 7 of the Aggie points in the period.

Lacy worked the paint for 5 second quarter baskets, and Mitchell nailed another 3-point shot as the Bulldog lead grew to 26-18 at halftime. Brown threw in 3 baskets and 3 free throws in the period to keep Williams close.

Parker and Lacy dropped in 2 baskets each in the third quarter, and Andre Moore tallied a basket to keep Bladenboro on top 36-32.

Coach Phillip Penny’s Bulldogs improved to 7-3 on the season and will travel to Nakina Tuesday.
