CLARKTON – Keyshawn Kemp and Khalil McKoy combined for 32 points to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to a 56-8 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ basketball victory over Williams Township Wednesday night.
Kemp blistered the nets with 4 baskets and a free throw during a 23-0 Blue Devil run that opened the game. Khalil McKoy fired in a 3-point shot and 2 more baskets. Dasheon Campbell sank 2 baskets and a free throw, and Isaiah Robinson muscled in a basket.
Jackson Smith buried a 3-point shot and another basket for Clarkton in the 2nd period. Campbell tossed in a basket and a free throw, and Kemp, Kyran McKoy and Khalil McKoy tacked on baskets as the CSD lead grew to 37-5 at halftime.
Kemp drained a 3-point shot, a basket and a free throw in the 3rd period and led the Blue Devil scoring with 17 points. Khalil McKoy nailed a pair of 3-point shots in the quarter and finished with 15 points. Smith and Campbell added baskets to grow the lead to 53-7.
Hunter Wood bombed in a 3-point shot in the final period for the Blue Devils. Campbell posted 10 points for the winners, and Smith tallied 7 points.
Coach Robert Mazur’s Blue Devils improved to 3-2 on the season and will travel to Nakina Thursday.
