Elizabethtown raced to leads of 11-3 and 28-6 enroute to a 55-20 Bladen Five Middle School Conference victory over visiting Tar Heel Tuesday night.

Allen Owens threw in a trio of first quarter baskets to spark the Cougars to the early lead. Teammate Nijeal McKoy added a basket and a free throw as Elizabethtown went up 11-3. Kalil Lloyd tossed in the first Tar Heel basket.

Owens dropped in 3 more baskets in the second quarter, and Jordan Robinson nailed a 3-point shot and another basket as the lead grew to 28-6. Kendall Johnson scored the Panther basket in the quarter.

Majuan McKoy drained a 3-point basket and 2 more field goals in the third period as the Cougar lead grew to 39-13 at the quarter break. Teammate Fred Wooten netted a basket and a free throw in the quarter.

Shemaiah Leak fired in a 3-point shot and sank a trio of free throws for the Panthers in the third period. Leak led the Tar Heel scoring with 10 points in the game.

Tyre Boykin made a trio of free throws and scored another basket for Tar Heel in the final quarter. Boykin totaled 6 points in the game.

Cory McKoy pumped in a pair of baskets for the Cougars in the final period. Owens topped the Elizabethtown scoring with 13 points, and Majuan McKoy followed with 11 points. Robinson finished with 9 points.
