WHITEVILLE – Jamal Brown poured in 28 points Thursday night to lead Williams Township to a 42-28 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys basketball victory over Clarkton School of Discovery.

Lafon Monroe and Samaj Dove dropped in first period baskets for the Blue Devils, but the Aggies took an early 8-4 lead. Brown scored 6 first half points as the lead grew to 14-5. Rodney Lacewell sank a second quarter free throw for CSD.

Aniyaes Bethea pumped in a pair of Clarkton baskets in the third period. Corey Robbins nailed a 3-point shot, and Monroe, Dove and Nyquan Richardson threw in a basket each. Lee Barnes hit a free throw as the margin was trimmed to 24-19.

Brown racked up 8 points in the third quarter for the Aggies then blistered the nets with 14 points in the final period.

Monroe drained a 3-point shot and two more baskets in the fourth quarter and led the Clarkton scoring with 11 points. Richardson tallied a final period basket to finish with 4 points, and Bethea and Dove also scored 4 points each.

The Blue Devils will travel to Whiteville Central Monday.
