ELIZABETHTOWN – Bladenboro scored 3 first-half goals and defeated West Columbus 3-1 on Tuesday night in Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys soccer action at Bladen County Park.
Hezekiah Blanks-Adams drilled a 30-yard free kick that hit the crossbar over the goal then ricocheted to teammate Cade Allen who booted in the rebound for the first Bulldog goal.
West Columbus rallied and tied the score with a breakaway goal. Back came the Bulldogs as Aiden Russ beat the Viking goalie one-on-one to score the goal that put Bladenboro ahead to stay.
Colin Britt banged in an insurance goal off of an assist from Gavin Elks that stretched the Bulldog lead to 3-1.
Coach Steve Thurman’s Bulldogs evened their record at 3-3 and will play Elizabethtown on Wednesday at County Park.
