Garrett Melvin figured in the scoring of 4 goals as Clarkton School of Discovery defeated Tar Heel 5-0 Tuesday night in Bladen Five Middle Conference boys soccer action at County Park.
Melvin cracked the scoring column in the sixth minute converting a throw-in from Jackson Bostic into a Blue Devil goal. Twelve minutes later Melvin sent a pass to Joseph Masaid who knocked in the shot for a 2-0 Clarkton lead.
In the second half Melvin banged a shot off of a Tar Heel defender and into the net. In the 46th minute Jake Garrison battled his way down the field and fired in a goal for a 4-0 Blue Devil lead.
Melvin capped the scoring with another goal 8 minutes later.
