Elizabethtown completed an undefeated 6-0 season Tuesday night with a 2-0 victory over Clarkton School of Discovery in Bladen Five Middle School boys soccer action at County Park.

In the seventh minute Malcolm Bolden hammered in a penalty kick for the first Cougar goal. With just under ten minutes left in the game, Bolden converted a pass from Sammy Valerio into an insurance goal and a 2-0 Elizabethtown lead.

Raymond Autry recorded the shutout in goal for the Cougars and was credited with one save. The Cougars outshot Clarkton 9-1.

“Chase (Starkloff) and Evan (Pait) did a tremendous job in midfield and controlled the game,” said East Bladen Coach Jay Raynor. “Ahmad (Powell), Tyreon (Graham) and Joel (Johnson) did fantastic in the back tonight. They played smart and made some big plays.”

“Ruben (Alvarailo) and Ismael (Arteaga) did a great job in helping our attacks on the flanks,” continued Coach Raynor. “Zachary (Metz) and Jamie (Delgado) provided some edge to our attack tonight.”

Raynor concluded, “ I am very proud of these guys. To finish the season undefeated and win the conference championship is a testament to their hard work and determination. This is one of the finest groups of young men that I have ever coached. Their manners, respect and willingness to be selfless are things that are tough to come by these days. These boys are champions on and off the field.”
