ELIZABETHTOWN – Ishaq Algozy poured in a ‘Hat Trick’ of 3 goals in the 2nd half that lifted Elizabethtown to a 5-2 Waccamaw Middle School Conference victory over Bladenboro Tuesday.
The teams had battled to a 2-2 tie at halftime, before Algozy launched a pair of high shots that curled just under the crossbar and gave the Cougars a 4-2 lead. Algozy drilled in a penalty kick to pad the lead to 5-2 after a foul in the box.
Andrrio Garcia-Nunez fired in a 1st half goal for Elizabethtown, and Damian Sanchez knocked in another goal to pad the Cougar lead to 2-0.
Diego Santos rallied the Bulldogs knocking in a pair of goals that tied the game 2-2.
Elizabethtown improves to 4-1 overall and will travel to Tar Heel Thursday for a key showdown with the first-place Panthers. Bladenboro, now 2-3, will visit Clarkton Thursday.
