LAKE WACCAMAW – Elizabethtown outscored East Columbus 4-3 Monday in the penalty kick shootout after the 2 teams battled to a 2-2 tie in regulation play in Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer action.

The Hawks built a 2-0 halftime lead, but Tevin McClean fired in a pair of Cougar goals in the 2nd half to tie the game 2-2.

In the shootout, Ishaq Algozy, Ronnie Covington, Chance Miller and Freddy Valerio drilled in their shots to give Elizabethtown the victory.

Fox Sutton recorded the win in goal for Elizabethtown and was credited with 5 saves.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Cougars evened their record at 3-3 and will host West Columbus Tuesday at 3:45 p.m.
