NAKINA – Nakina defeated Clarkton School of Discovery 3-1 Tuesday in Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer action.
Claxton Tatum fired in the only Blue Devil goal to stake the visitors to an early 1-0 lead. Nakina tied the score 1-1 5 minutes later then an ‘own goal’ by Clarkton just before halftime put the Mustangs in front 2-1. Nakina tacked on an insurance goal midway the 2nd half.
“We had shots, just could not find the back of the net,” said Clarkton Coach Robert Mazur.
The Blue Devils, now 3-1 in Waccamaw A Division play, will host Nakina Wednesday in a make-up game. Nakina leads the A Division with a 4-0 record.
