TABOR CITY – Tabor City outscored Clarkton School of Discovery 2-0 in the penalty kick shootout to claim a Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys soccer victory after the two teams battled to a 3-3 tie in regulation play.

Keyshawn Fennell-Kemp opened the scoring for Clarkton with a goal in the 16th minute. Fourteen minutes later Diego Santos-Hernandez converted an assist from Chris Cromartie into a goal and a 2-0 Blue Devil lead.

Tabor City battled back to tie the score 2-2 in the 2nd half, but Fennell-Kemp fired in his 2nd goal of the game for a 3-2 CSD lead. Ten minutes later the Red Devils knotted the score 3-3.

The Blue Devils were hampered by the loss of their goalie due to an injury in the 2nd half and had to substitute a 1st year player in for the shootout.

It was the season opener for Coach Jordan Raynor’s Blue Devils who will travel to Bladenboro Thursday.
