Tar Heel scored on an ‘own’ goal in the second half and defeated Clarkton School of Discovery 1-0 in Bladen Five Middle School Soccer action Monday night at County Park.
An ‘own’ goal is a goal scored mistakenly by a defender on his own team’s goal. The deciding Tar Heel goal came 5 minutes into the second half.
Antonio Candelaria recorded the shutout in goal for the Panthers. Tar Heel improved to 3-1 with the victory, while CSD is now 1-3.
