ELIZABETHTOWN – Tar Heel shut out Whiteville Central 1-0 on Tuesday night to clinch a tie for the Waccamaw Middle School Conference’s AA Division championship.
Ricardo Rodriguez fired in the game’s only goal for the Panthers. Oswaldo Gonzalez recorded the shutout in goal for Tar Heel.
Coach Brett Jackson’s Panthers finished with an 8-2 record and tied Elizabethtown for the AA Division title. The Panthers and Cougars split their two head-to-head games.
