Alexander Garza and Gustavo Bravo Verdugo scored goals Thursday night to lead Tar Heel to a 2-0 Bladen Five Middle School Conference boys soccer victory over Bladenboro.
Garza fired in a first-half goal to give Tar Heel a 1-0 lead. Verdugo tacked on an insurance goal in the second half.
Antonio Candelaria went the distance in goal for the winners and recorded the shutout as the Panthers improved their record to 2-1 with the win.
