CERRO GORDO – Alejandro Lopez and Cristian Rodriguez scored 2 goals each to lead undefeated Tar Heel to a 5-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer victory over West Columbus Tuesday.
Cristian Rodriguez raced to the box and fired in an unassisted goal to start the game then delivered an assist to Seth Faircloth who turned the feed into a goal and a 2-0 Panther lead. Lopez attacked the net and rang up an unassisted goal to put Tar Heel up 3-0 at halftime.
Lopez began the 2nd half with another unassisted goal, and Cristian Rodriguez closed out the scoring with another unassisted goal. Sebastian Ortega posted the shutout in goal for the Panthers and had 3 saves.
Coach Brett Jackson’s Panthers improved to 3-0 in Waccamaw AA play and 4-0 overall. The Panthers will host Whiteville Central on Tuesday November 29th.
