ELIZABETHTOWN – Tar Heel’s Panthers remained unbeaten in Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys soccer action Wednesday night with a 6-2 victory over Clarkton School of Discovery at County Park.

In the fifth minute of play, Gabriel Inestroza fired in a goal off of an assist from Jordan Underwood to put the Panthers on top 1-0.

The Blue Devils answered early in the second half as Lafon Monroe banged in a goal off of Samaj Dove’s corner kick.

Four minutes later Inestroza delivered an assist to Kevin Labra who knocked in the goal to put Tar Heel ahead to stay at 2-1. Two minutes later William Verdugo Gomez converted an assist from Chris Labra into another Panther goal for a 3-1 lead.

Eight minutes later Gomez drove to the goal and hammered in an unassisted goal that stretched the margin to 4-1. Two minutes later the Blue Devils were credited with an ‘own’ goal as the Panthers deflected a shot into the net that trimmed the lead to 4-2.

Back came the Panthers as Alex Garza dribbled to the goal and drilled in an unassisted goal to pad the lead to 5-2. Underwood blasted in an unassisted goal to cap the Tar Heel scoring.

Nolan Sessoms picked up the victory in goal for the Panthers.

Coach Ray Schmucker’s Panthers improved to 5-0 with the victory and will play Bladenboro Thursday at County Park at 3:45. Clarkton School of Discovery will battle Elizabethtown in the second game at County Park at 5 p.m.
