TAR HEEL – Alejandro Lopez fired in a ‘Hat Trick’ of 3 goals to lead Tar Heel to a 7-0 boys’ soccer victory Monday over Clarkton School of Discovery in Waccamaw Middle School Conference action.
Lopez attacked the box for a pair of unassisted goals to start the game then sent a crossing pass to Levi Garcia who knocked in the goal for a 3-0 lead. Lopez’ delivered his 2nd assist of the half to Cristian Rodriquez who converted the goal for a 4-0 Panther halftime lead.
Cristian Rodriguez scored an unassisted goal to begin the 2nd half, before Lopez completed his ‘Hat Trick’ with another unassisted goal. Teammate Alex Rodriguez added an unassisted goal to push the final margin to 7-0. Sebastian Ortega posted the shutout in goal for the Panthers with 2 saves.
“We came out flat and were never a factor in the game,” said Blue Devil Coach Robert Mazur. The Blue Devils, now 2-1, will host Williams Township Tuesday.
Coach Brett Jackson’s Panthers remained unbeaten at 3-0 and will travel to West Columbus Tuesday.
