CLARKTON – Quarterback ShyRon Adams ran for 3 touchdowns and threw for another to lead Bladenboro to a 30-0 victory over Clarkton School of Discovery in the Bladen Five Middle School Conference finale for both teams Thursday night.

Adams piled up 200 yards rushing and figured in all of the Bulldog scoring as he ran for a 2-point conversion and passed for the other two conversions.

The Blue Devil offense was stymied by 5 lost fumbles, beginning with one on the opening kick-off. The Bulldogs drove 31 yards to the Clarkton 14 yardline but were stopped on downs.

Clarkton answered with a 74-yard, 16-play drive that consumed ten minutes off the clock. However another lost fumble gave the ball back to the Bulldogs on their own 13 yardline.

On the next play, Adams raced 87 yards for a Bladenboro touchdown. Adams then passed for the 2-point conversion and an 8-0 lead.

The Blue Devils fumbled the ensuing kick-off, and Bladenboro recovered. Three plays later Adams broke loose for a 41-yard touchdown run as time expired on the first half clock. Adams also carried into the end zone for the 2-point conversion and a 16-0 halftime lead.

On the first play of the third quarter, Adams bolted 41 yards for a Bladenboro touchdown. Adams connected with Jermaine Spivey with a pass for the 2-point conversion and a 24-0 lead.

The Blue Devils mounted a 7-play drive, but once again lost the ball on a fumble. On the next play Adams tossed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Spivey that stretched the Bulldog lead to 30-0.

Clarkton kept the ball for another 7 plays before losing their fifth fumble of the night.

The Bulldogs finished 4-2 in the conference, while Clarkton posted a 2-4 record.
