Da’Shawn Hines ran for four touchdowns Thursday night to lead Bladenboro to a 32-20 victory at Tar Heel in Bladen Five Middle School Conference football action at Tar Heel.

Hines dashed 65 yards for a first quarter touchdown. Quarterback ShyRon Adams connected with Braylon Williamson for the 2-point conversion pass and an 8-0 Bulldog lead.

The Panthers answered with a 51-yard, 9-play scoring drive. Quarterback Tyre Boykin scooted 10 yards for the touchdown that trimmed the Bulldog lead to 8-6.

Hines fielded the Tar Heel kick-off and raced 75 yards for another Bulldog touchdown. Adams scored the conversion on a quarterback sneak for a 16-6 Bladenboro lead.

After an exchange of fumbles in the second period, the Panthers covered 45 yards in 5 plays to trim the margin to 16-14. Boykin started the drive with a 10-yard pass to Kendall Pone. Three plays later, Boykin charged through the left side for the touchdown. Pone pounced on a fumble in the end zone to score the 2-point conversion.

Bladenboro bounced back with a 50-yard drive. Hines sprinted 30 yards for the touchdown, and Adams again plowed through the middle for the conversion and a 24-14 halftime lead.

The Bulldogs recovered a Panther fumble at the Tar Heel 35 yardline to begin the second half. Hines galloped 40 yards for his fourth touchdown of the night. Trashawn Ballard bulled into the end zone for the 2-point conversion and a 32-14 Bladenboro lead.

In the fourth quarter, Pone bolted 24 yards on a fake punt to pick up a Panther first down. Pone then capped the drive with a 20-yard touchdown run that closed the gap to 32-20.

Tar Heel recovered their on-side kick and drove the ball all the way to the Bulldog 5 yardline. On the last play of the game, a Panther pass fell incomplete.

The Bulldogs improved to 4-1 in the Bladen Five and will travel to Elizabethtown next Thursday for the game that will decide the Bladen Five championship. The Panthers will close out their season at Clarkton.
