TAR HEEL – Quarterback ShyRon Adams rushed for 4 touchdowns and over 125 yards to lead Bladenboro to a 38-22 Bladen Five Middle School Conference victory over Tar Heel Thursday night.

Tar Heel drove to the Bulldog 15 yardline on their opening possession before a fumble stopped the drive. Bladenboro answered with a scoring drive that ended with Adams dashing 15 yards for the touchdown. Adams kept the ball and ran for the 2 –point conversion and an 8-0 lead.

Back came the Panthers as Jadacus Register broke loose and galloped 30 yards for a touchdown. Antonio Candelaria tied the score 8-8 with 5:14 left in the half as he carried into the end zone for the 2-point conversion.

Adams answered for the Bulldogs by sprinting 24 yards for a go-ahead touchdown and a 14-8 lead 1:19 before halftime.

The Panthers turned the ball over, and Adams bolted 20 yards for another touchdown. Adams then tossed a pass for the 2-point conversion and a 22-8 halftime lead.

With 18 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Adams raced 60 yards for his final touchdown of the night. The 2-point conversion padded the lead to 30-8.

Jermaine Spivey darted 15 yards for the final Bulldog touchdown with 6 minutes left in the game, and the conversion raised the count to 38-8.

The Panthers rallied as Kia Belle popped free and scooted 15 yards for a touchdown. Khalil Lloyd ran the 2-point conversion to trim the margin to 38-16 with 2:22 on the clock.

Register scampered 45 yards for his second touchdown of the night with 1:15 left to narrow the gap to 38-22.

Tar Heel will close out their season Thursday night at Elizabethtown. Bladenboro, now 3-2, will visit Clarkton School of Discovery next Thursday night.
