BLADENBORO – Anthony “Peanut” Mitchell ran 38 yards for the winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter as Bladenboro defeated Tar Heel 8-0 Tuesday night in Waccamaw Middle School Conference football action.
A penalty pushed the ball back to the 8 yardline on the conversion attempt, but Mitchell carried the ball the 8 yards into the end zone for the 2-point conversion and an 8-0 lead.
After the Bulldog touchdown, Tar Heel drove down to the Bladenboro ten yardline but didn’t score.
“It was a good defensive game by both teams,” said Bulldog Athletic Director Steve Thurman.
The Bulldogs evened their record at 1-1 with the victory.
