usafootball13Elizabethtown scored 20 second-half points to seal a 28-0 Bladen Five Middle School Conference victory at Tar Heel Thursday night.

The Panther defense stopped the Cougars on their first possession, but the Cougars blocked a Tar Heel punt to set up Jordan Robinson’s 30-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Quarterback Lefrederick Wooten ran the 2-point conversion for an 8-0 lead.

The Panthers responded by marching all the way to the Elizabethtown five yard line, before being stopped on downs.

The score remained 8-0 at halftime.

Majuan McKoy raced 25 yards for an Elizabethtown touchdown in the third quarter. Wooten tossed a pass to Ethan Johnson for the 2-point conversion and a 16-0 lead.

The Panthers bounced back with a drive of their own that reached the Elizabethtown 20 yard line. However, Robinson scooped up a Tar Heel fumble at the 15 and returned it 85 yards for a touchdown and a 22-0 lead.

Raeshaun Monroe scored the final Elizabethtown touchdown on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter.

The Panthers also had one touchdown called back due to a block-in the-back penalty.

“I was tickled with the way we played until we had those mistakes in the second half,” said Tar Heel Coach Andy Clark.

Elizabethtown remains undefeated at 4-0 and will travel to Clarkton School of Discovery next Thursday. Tar Heel will host Bladenboro.
