ELIZABETHTOWN –Quarterback Jacob Lockamy threw a 55-yard pass to Cameron White for the winning touchdown with 1:30 remaining to lift Elizabethtown to a 36-32 victory over Hallsboro in Waccamaw Middle School Conference football action.

Hallsboro led 32-28, before Lockamy and White hooked up for the game-winning pass. Malcolm Bolden ran the 2-point conversion to boost the lead to 36-32, and the Cougar defense stopped Hallsboro on downs to end the game.

Bolden ran for over 100 yards and scored 4 touchdowns for the Cougars. Bolden broke loose for a 40-yard touchdown run in the first period, and Hunter Elks carried into the end zone for the 2-point conversion.

Later in the opening period, Bolden dashed 20 yards for another touchdown. In the second quarter, Bolden raced 60 yards on a kick-off return for his third touchdown.

Bolden bolted 40 yards for his fourth touchdown in the third quarter. Jayden ran the 2-point conversion for the Cougars.

White and Zeke Lewis intercepted Hallsboro passes to lead the Elizabethtown defense.

“Hallsboro is a big team,” said Cougar Coach Ricky Whitaker. “That was like playing a junior varsity team. Our guys fought hard and pulled it out.”
