ACME-DELCO – Malcolm Bolden scored four touchdowns to lead Elizabethtown to a 38-6 Waccamaw Middle School Conference football victory over Acme-Delco Tuesday night.

Bolden dashed 52 yards for the first Cougar touchdown, and teammate Hunter Elks carried for the 2-point conversion and an 8-0 first quarter lead.

Darius Williamson galloped 20 yards for another Cougar touchdown, and Bolden darted into the end zone for the 2-point conversion and a 16-0 lead.

Elks raced 43 yards to the Trojan one yardline in the second quarter, and Bolden banged into the end zone for the touchdown. Jeffrey Jernigan blasted his way into the end zone for the conversion and a 24-0 halftime lead.

Bolden picked off a Trojan pass and returned the interception 55 yards for a Cougar touchdown and a 30-0 third quarter lead.

In the fourth quarter, Bolden scooped up a fumble and returned the ball 47 yards for his fourth touchdown of the game. Williamson powered into the end zone for the conversion.

K. J. Brown threw a 10-yard pass for the Acme-Delco touchdown in the closing minutes.

“Our defense has woke up and is really playing some good ball right now,” said Cougar Coach Ricky Whitaker.

The Cougars will travel to Whiteville to play Central Middle next Tuesday night.
