TABOR CITY- South Columbus built a 14-0 halftime lead en route to a 30-8 Waccamaw Middle School Conference football victory over Bladenboro Tuesday night in the season opener for both teams.

A Bulldog fumble on the 1st play of the 3rd quarter helped the Stallions control the ball for the rest of the period.

After a South touchdown in the final period, Bladenboro’s Buddy Lesane returned the kickoff 50 yards. Sincere McKinley raced 20 yards for the Bulldog touchdown on the next play. Quarterback Ashton Davis fired a pass to Blake Britt on a slant for the 2-point conversion.

The Bulldogs will travel to Tar Heel Tuesday at 6 p.m.
