Elexus Corrothers fired in 11 of her game-high 18 points in the fourth quarter as Bladenboro rallied for a 27-26 Bladen Five Middle School Conference girls basketball victory Thursday at Clarkton School of Discovery.
It was a tale of two halves as the Lady Blue Devils built a 15-6 halftime lead, before the Lady Bulldogs outscored CSD 21-11 after intermission to claim the victory.
Khadijah Jones tossed in 6 first period points, and Tara Rogers and Abbie Cross added baskets as the Lady Blue Devils grabbed a 10-4 lead. Corrothers and Kasee Singletary threw in 2 points each for Bladenboro in the quarter.
Jones tallied 3 points in the second quarter, and Cross scored 2 more as the Clarkton lead grew to 15-6. Jordan Benson rang up the only 2 points for Bladenboro in the period.
Corrothers pumped in 5 points in the third quarter, and Singletary added a basket as Bladenboro closed the gap to 17-13. Katie Evans connected for the only Clarkton basket in the period.
Evans contributed 4 of her 6 points for Clarkton in the final quarter, and Jones led the Lady Blue Devils with 12 points after scoring 3 more points in the fourth period. Cross pumped in a basket in the quarter to total 6 points in the game.
Singletary followed Corrothers in the Bladenboro scoring column with 7 points after adding a basket in the final period.
