BLADENBORO – Allison Hickman fired in 6 of her game-high 13 points during an 8-2 final period spurt that propelled Bladenboro to a 29-23 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls basketball victory over Williams Township Thursday.

Hickman sank 2 free throws then drained a pair of baskets, and teammate Karlee Gause tossed in a basket as Bladenboro snapped a 21-21 tie with the closing run.

Gause finished with 8 points for the winners, and teammate Cheyenne Reinart chipped in with 6 points. Haley Morrall scored all 10 of her points for Williams in the 1st half, and teammate Chloe Cribb added 5 points.

Gause pumped in 2 baskets in the 1st quarter, and Reinart netted a basket to keep the Lady Bulldogs within 9-6. Hickman popped in 2 baskets and a free throw in the 2nd period, and Reinart rang up 2 more baskets as Bladenboro whittled the Williams lead to 17-15.

Janya McKeithan and Gause scored baskets in the 3rd period, and Hickman cashed in a pair of free throws as the Lady Bulldogs pulled even at 21-21.

Coach Otis Evans’ Lady Bulldogs will play Tar Heel Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Bladen County Tournament at Elizabethtown.
