BLADENBORO – MaKayla Wright fired in 10 points Thursday to lead Bladenboro to a 34-7 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls basketball victory over Nakina.

Wright pumped in a trio of first quarter baskets, and Lainey Autry threw in a pair of baskets as the Lady Bulldogs raced to a 12-0 lead. Marlie Walters tossed in the other Bladenboro basket in the period.

Rylee Chadwick and McKenzie Singletary popped in second quarter baskets, and Wright made 2 free throws to pad the Lady Bulldog lead to 18-5 at halftime.

Mallory Bryan nailed a pair of third quarter baskets, and Whitney McLean dropped in a basket. Chadwick added a free throw as the Bladenboro lead grew to 25-5.

Holland Davis, Wright, Chadwick and Bryan scored baskets for the Lady Bulldogs in the fourth period, and Walters delivered a free throw.

Bryan finished with 6 points for the winners. Chadwick followed with 5 points, and Autry totaled 4 points. Kaylee Etheridge led Nakina with 6 points.

Coach Joey Autry’s Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-4 and will host Hallsboro Monday.
