NAKINA – Bladenboro raced to leads of 10-0 and 27-6 Tuesday night en route to a 35-10 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls basketball victory over Nakina.
Whitney McLean tossed in 2 baskets, and Lainey Autry, Mallory Bryan and MaKayla Wright threw in a basket each as the Lady Bulldogs took the 10-0 first quarter lead.
Noria Singletary and Bryan fired in a 3-point basket each in the second period. Wright dropped in a basket and a free throw. Rylee Chadwick sank 2 free throws, and Autry, Megan Pait and Holland Davis pumped in a basket each as the Lady Bulldog lead stretched to 27-6.
Bryan scored the only Bladenboro basket in the third quarter, and Chadwick, Singletary and Marly Crabtree flipped in baskets in the fourth period.
Bryan topped the Bladenboro scoring list with 7 points, and Wright and Singletary finished with 5 points each. Autry, Chadwick and McLean followed with 4 points each. Carmen Buck scored 4 points for Nakina.
Coach Joey Autry’s Lady Bulldogs improved to 8-4 with the victory and will travel to Tar Heel Thursday.
