Middle School Girls Basketball: West Columbus 33, Tar Heel 20

TAR HEEL – Tierra Braddy fired in 19 points Thursday to lead West Columbus to a 33-20 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls basketball victory over Tar Heel.

Violet Allen drained a 3-point shot and a free throw for to keep Tar Heel within 7-4 in the opening period. Kiera Lewis threw in 2 baskets in the second quarter for the Lady Panthers. Allen nailed another 3-point shot, but 6 points from Braddy kept the Lady Warriors on top 14-11.

Braddy keyed a 13-5 third quarter Lady Viking run with 9 points. Allen sank 2 free throws, and Tiannah Willis buried a 3-point shot for Tar Heel. Allen and Karla Rodriguez scored baskets for the Lady Panthers in the final period.

Allen led the Tar Heel scoring with 13 points, and Lewis totaled 4 points. The Lady Panthers will host Bladenboro Tuesday.
