BLADENBORO – Mykelliona Shipman scored 16 points to lead Whiteville Central to a 28-21 victory over Bladenboro Tuesday in Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls basketball action.

Shipman dropped in 4 baskets and 2 free throws as the Lady Wolfpack rode a 15-4 second-period spurt to a 19-8 halftime lead. Rylee Chadwick, Mallory Bryan and MaKayla Wright tossed in first half baskets for Bladenboro.

Chadwick threw in a third period basket, Bryan sank 2 free throws, and Wright hit one as the Lady Bulldogs whittled the margin to 23-13.

Lainey Autry, Wright, Whitney McLean and Bryan fired in baskets in the final quarter for the Lady Bulldogs.

Bryan led the Bladenboro scoring with 6 points. Wright followed with 5 points, and Autry and Chadwick finished with 4 points each.

Bladenboro, now 1-2, will host Tar Heel Thursday.
