WHITEVILLE – A. Smith poured in all 23 of her points in the opening half as Whiteville Central raced to leads of 20-5 and 31-7 en route to a 37-9 Waccamaw Middle School ‘AA’ Division girls’ basketball victory over Tar Heel Wednesday.
Abigail Dew buried a 3-point shot and 2 free throws in the 1st quarter for Tar Heel then added a basket in the 3rd period to finish with 7 points for the Lady Panthers. ZaAsia Lewis tossed in the other Tar Heel basket in the 2nd quarter.
Tar Heel will close out its season Thursday at home against East Columbus.
