SoccerKaden Thurman scored one goal and assisted on the other one as Bladenboro edged Tar Heel 2-1 Thursday night in Bladen Five Middle School Conference girls soccer action at County Park.

Thurman sent a pass to Rylie Chadwick who knocked it into the net for the first Lady Bulldog goal. The second Bladenboro goal came on Thurman’s corner kick. The ball rebounded back to Thurman who fired it in for a 2-0 lead.

Josefina Toboada Torres broke the scoring ice for Tar Heel by scoring a goal with about 5 minutes left to play.

“Hannah Hester had a great game as goalkeeper for us,” said Bladenboro Coach Steve Thurman.

Bladenboro improved to 2-3 with the victory and will close out the season against Clarkton School of Discovery Tuesday at 5 p.m.
