ELIZABETHTOWN –Sophia Masaid blistered the nets with a ‘Hat Trick’ plus one of 4 goals to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to a 7-1 Waccamaw Middle School girls soccer victory over Elizabethtown at County Park.

Jinely Mandujano staked the Lady Blue Devils to an early lead with a goal in the second minute off of an assist from Cydney Campbell. Twelve minutes later Molly Evans banged in a goal off of a corner kick by Mauri Flores.

In the 21st minute Masaid knocked in her first goal of the game off of an assist from Mandujano to pad the Clarkton lead to 3-0 at halftime.

Masaid opened the second half with her second goal of the game off of an assist from Lilly Davis. Three minutes later Masaid turned a feed from Molly Tolar into her third goal and grew the Clarkton lead to 5-0.

Thirteen minutes later Masaid broke free and blasted in her fourth goal of the game for a 6-0 CSD lead. Elizabethtown answered with a goal, before AnnaGrey Heustess closed out the scoring with a Clarkton goal off of an assist from Karli Priest.

“Three-peat!’ exclaimed Lady Blue Devil Coach Jordan Raynor. “We accomplished our goal of the season. Three years in a row…undefeated champions! I couldn’t be more proud of my Lady Blue Devils.”

The Lady Blue Devils won the Waccamaw AA Conference with a 5-0 league record. Clarkton finished 6-0-1 overall with a non-conference tie with Waccamaw AAA member Whiteville Central.
