Clarkton School of DiscoverySophia Masaid poured in 4 goals Tuesday night to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to a 7-3 Bladen Five Middle School Conference girls soccer victory over Elizabethtown at County Park.

Masaid cracked the scoring column in the first minute of play as she took a pass from Sara Gargala and put it into the net for a 1-0 Lady Blue Devil lead.

Three minutes later Katie Evans sent a corner kick into the box, and Masaid knocked it into the goal for a 2-0 Clarkton lead. In the sixth minute, Lauren Bowen scored an unassisted goal that padded the lead to 3-0.

The Lady Cougars trimmed the lead to 3-1, Bowen raced to the goal and scored her second goal that pushed the lead to 4-1.

Masaid completed her ‘Hat Trick’ and stretched the CSD lead to 5-1 with an unassisted goal. Two minutes later Elizabethtown answered with a goal that narrowed the gap to 5-2.

Gargala scored an unassisted goal 5 minutes later that pushed the lead to 6-2. The Lady Cougars responded with a goal in the 40th minute, before Masaid closed out the scoring two minutes later with her fourth goal of the game.

Kenia Medina-Leal scored 2 of the Elizabethtown goals, and Annette Munoz-Ventura fired in the other goal for the Lady Cougars.

Coach Jordan Maynor’s Lady Blue Devils lead the Bladen Five with a 2-0 record, while Elizabethtown is now 1-1.
