CERRO GORDO – Tar Heel’s Lluvia Sanchez Orellana drilled in the only goal of the game in the 2nd half as the Lady Panthers improved to 4-0 on the season with a 1-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference victory over previously unbeaten West Columbus.
Abigail Dew recorded her 4th consecutive shutout in goal for the Lady Panthers and was credited with 5 saves.
“It was a tough game for us,” said Tar Heel Coach Brett Jackson. “We played a really strong team, and we are battling through some injuries. The girls played with all they had and came out with a big win.
Jackson continued, “I am extremely proud of the girls and the growth they have made throughout the season.”
Tar Heel is slated to host Whiteville Central Monday.
