Brandon Labra turned in a ‘Hat Trick’ of 3 goals to lead Tar Heel to a 4-2 Bladen Five Middle School Conference soccer victory over Bladenboro Tuesday night at County Park.

Labra converted an assist from Jacob Lopez into the first Panther goal with 19 minutes remaining in the first half. Lopez took advantage of an assist from Jesus Perez to score the second Tar Heel goal with 7:20 left in the first half.

Lopez chalked up his second assist 5:44 before halftime when his pass set up Labra for his second goal of the game and gave Tar Heel a 3-0 halftime lead.

Wilmer Garcia broke the scoring ice for the Bulldogs with a goal that trimmed the Panther lead to 3-1 with 20:04 left to play.

Three minutes later Garcia struck again with his second goal of the game that brought Bladenboro to within 3-2. Logan West set up the second Garcia goal with an assist.

Labra gave the Panthers some breathing room with a goal with 14:05 remaining. Perez’ second assist of the game led to the third Labra goal.

The Panthers improved to 5-1 on the season and will play Bladen Five co-leader Clarkton School of Discovery Thursday at 5 p. m. Bladenboro, now 2-5, will battle Elizabethtown at 4 p. m. Thursday.

The order of Thursday’s games has been swapped from the original schedule because of a band concert at Elizabethtown Middle.
