BLADENBORO-Rylee Chadwick pitched a no-hitter and struck out 13 batters to lead Bladenboro to a 10-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball victory over Tar Heel Thursday.

Chadwick walked six batters. Tar Heel’s Lauren Faircloth struck out 6 batters and walked two while allowing 7 hits.

The Lady Bulldogs scored 5 runs in the first inning. Lainey Autry led off with a single, advanced on a passed ball and a stolen base then scooted home when Chadwick belted a single. Chadwick stole 2 bases and dashed home when McKenzie Singletary smacked a single.

Whitney McLean and Kaden Thurman reached base on errors as Singletary scored. McLean sprinted home on a passed ball, and Megan West’s fielder’s choice plated Thurman.

Megan Pait reached base on an error to begin the Bladenboro second inning. Autry ripped a single, and Chadwick walked as Pait scored. Singletary knocked in Autry with a single, and Chadwick scored to push the lead to 8-0.

Mallory Bryan and Chadwick started the Lady Bulldog fourth inning with singles, and Singletary was hit by a pitch. Marlie Walters’ fielder’s choice scored Bryan and Chadwick later scored to up the count to 10-0.

Chadwick batted a perfect 2-2 with a run batted in and 3 runs scored. Singletary finished 2-2 at the plate with 2 rbi’s and a run scored. Autry batted 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Bryan connected for the other Bladenboro hit. Walters and West had one rbi each. Bryan, McLean, Thurman, and Pait scored one run each.

The Lady Bulldogs, now 2-2, will host Nakina Monday at 4 p.m.
