ELIZABETHTOWN – Bladenboro exploded for 10 1st inning runs en route to a 19-2 non-conference middle school softball victory over Elizabethtown Tuesday.

Allison Hickman pitched a 2-hitter and struck out 9 batters to pick up the win for the Lady Bulldogs. Ariel Cromartie struck out 4 batters for Elizabethtown but was plagued by 15 walks and 3 hit batters.

Natalee Sykes batted 2-for-3 with 3 runs batted in and 4 runs scored for the winners. Teammate Kali Allen smacked a single, walked 3 times, scored 4 runs and had an RBI. Catcher Leea Wilkins singled, walked, was hit by a pitch and scored 4 runs. Abbie Hickman singled, scored a run and drove in two.

Addison Wilcox walked 3 times, scored a run and had 2 RBIs for Bladenboro. Allison Hickman walked, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. Karlee Gause walked, scored a run and had an RBI. Jaylen Clark walked twice, scored a run and drove in two.

Makenna Thurman was hit by a pitch, walked and scored a run. Morgan Moore walked and scored a run, and Ashley Rivon walked twice and had an RBI.

Cromartie singled, walked and scored a run for Elizabethtown. Teammate Nia McKoy singled, walked and had an RBI. Hailey Bennett was hit by a pitch and scored a run, and Niyah Wooten reached base on an error that scored a run.

Coach Otis Evans’ Lady Bulldogs improved to 9-0 overall with the victory and will travel to Clarkton School of Discovery Wednesday. Elizabethtown will close out their season Thursday at Tar Heel.
