BLADENBORO – A 16-run 3rd inning propelled Bladenboro’s Lady Bulldogs to a 20-5 Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball victory over Tabor City Thursday.

In the Lady Bulldog 1st inning, Maycee Kinlaw, Hadley Dove, Karlee Gause and Chloe Walters drew walks, and Ashley Rivon was hit by a pitch to force home Kinlaw and Dove with a pair of runs. Tabor City answered with 3 runs to take the lead in the top of the 2nd inning.

Allison Hickman and Kinlaw were both hit by pitches in the Bladenboro half of the 2nd and both of them raced home when Gause slammed a double to edge the Lady Bulldogs ahead 4-3. However the Lady Eagles turned 2 walks and 2 errors in the top of the 3rd inning into 2 runs and a 5-4 lead.

The Lady Bulldogs used 10 hit batters, 8 walks, 3 hits and 1 error to score 16 runs and end the game in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Kinlaw cleared the bases with a 3-run double early in the inning. Hailii Andrews belted an RBI single, and Hickman slugged a 2-run double.

Hickman batted 2-for-3 with a double, was twice hit by pitches, scored 4 runs and had 3 RBIs. Kinlaw doubled, walked, was hit by pitches 3 times, scored 4 runs and had 4 RBIs. Dove walked 3 times, scored 3 runs and had 1 RBI. Gause hammered the 2-run double, walked and scored a run.

Diyari McKoy was hit by pitches 3 times and scored twice. Chloe Walters walked twice, was hit by a pitch, scored twice and had 3 RBIs. Ashley Rivon was hit by pitches 4 times, scored 3 runs and had 3 RBIs. Hailii Andrews laced a single, was hit by a pitch, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. Cheyenne Reinhart walked twice and scored a run, and Kristen Singletary walked twice, scored a run and had 2 RBIs.

Kinlaw struck out 5 in her 3 innings in the circle. She gave up 5 runs – 3 earned – on 2 hits, 3 walks and a hit batter.

Coach Otis Evans’ Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-1 in conference play and 5-1 overall. Bladenboro will host Williams Township Tuesday.
