BLADENBORO – Bladenboro exploded for 10 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 21-10 middle school softball victory over Tabor City Tuesday.

Marlie Walters walked twice and scored 2 runs in the 1st inning. Marly Crabtree, Mallory Bryan, Brookee Singletary, Leah Wilkins and Megan Pait all walked and scored runs. Holland Davis walloped a triple to center field, Kali Allen was hit by pitch and Kallie Bass reached base on a passed 3rd strike. Davis, Allen and Bass all scored.

Bass drilled a hit to right field to start the 2nd inning. Crabtree and Bryan drew walks, and Davis was hit by a pitch. Bass, Crabtree, Bryan and Davis all scored.

Faith Wren, Morgan Moore, Makenna Thurman, Bryan and Davis all drew walks. Natalie Sykes reached base on catcher’s interference. Wren, Moore, Thurman, and Sykes all scored.  

Wilkins and Allen drew walks and scored in the 4th inning. Abbie Hickman was hit by a pitch and scored a run in the Bladenboro 5th inning.

Davis tripled and scored twice to lead the Lady Bulldog hitters. Bass belted a hit and scored twice. Walters, Crabtree, Bryan, Wilkins and Allen scored 2 runs each. Pait, Wren, Moore, Thurman, Sykes, Hickman and Singletary scored 1 run each.

Pait pitched the first 2 innings for the Lady Bulldogs. Crabtree pitched the 3rd inning, and Bass pitched the 4th inning.

Coach Otis Evans’ Lady Bulldogs evened their record at 1-1 and will travel to Williams Township Thursday for their conference opener.
