BLADENBORO – Bladenboro defeated Tar Heel 25-6 Tuesday in Bladen Five Middle School Conference softball action.
Tar Heel jumped in front 2-0 in the top of the first as Victory Crawford walked and scored a run and Shelby Pharr also scored.
The Lady Bulldogs answered with ten runs in the home first. Summer Addington and Katie Guyton scored two runs each in the inning, and Natalie, Erica, Whitney, Taylor West, Kailey G. and Katalyn W. scored one run each.
Tar Heel trimmed the lead to 10-6 with 4 runs in the second. Crawford walked and scored, and Emily Pait, Pharr and Claudia Reyes also scored.
Bladenboro exploded for 15 more runs in the second inning. For the game Addington scored 4 runs, and Guyton, Whitney, Taylor West, Kailey G. and Katalyn W. scored 3 runs each.
Jordan Benson, Natalie and Erica scored 2 runs each for the Lady Bulldogs. West struck out 3 to pick up the win.
Crawford and Pharr scored 2 runs each for Tar Heel, and Reyes and Pait scored one each.
The Lady Bulldogs evened their record at 1-1 and will travel to Elizabethtown Thursday. Tar Heel will host Clarkton Thursday.
