WHITEVILLE – Bladenboro survived a Williams Township seventh-inning rally to secure a 4-3 softball victory in their Waccamaw Middle School Conference opener.

With the Lady Bulldogs leading 4-2 in the seventh, a hit, an error and 3 walks plated a run and loaded the bases for the Lady Aggies, but a force-out at second base ended the game.

Rylee Chadwick pitched a 4-hitter, struck out 7, and walked 6 – 3 intentional – to pick up the win for Bladenboro.

Chadwick led off the game with a single, Lainey Autry reached base on an error and catcher McKenzie Singletary slammed a double to drive in Chadwick with the game’s first run.

Autry singled to begin the third inning and eventually darted home on a passed ball. Marlie Walters belted a 2-out single in the fourth inning, Megan Pait drew a walk, and Chadwick knocked in both Walters and Pait with a double for a 4-0 Bladenboro lead.

Chadwick batted 2-4 with a double, a run scored and 2 runs batted in. Singletary finished 2-4 at the plate with an rbi double. Autry batted 2-4 with a run scored, and Megan West and Walters added one hit each.

Bladenboro will host Clarkton School of Discovery Thursday.
